Before you do an MTO, you may want to track down the Cowdray 2 on the 358 last:http://www.crockettandjones.com/product/cowdray-2-darkbrownhttp://www.upper-shoes.com/chaussures-luxe-hommes-crockett-and-jones/4884,196-cowdray.htmlI believe the original (and sadly discontinued) Cowdray was made on the 337 last.
The Lingfield is on the 348 last:http://www.barneys.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-BNY-Site/default/Product-Show?pid=103015682http://www.upper-shoes.com/lang-en/chaussures-luxe-hommes-crockett-and-jones/2965,1-lingfield.html
Even more so than bespoke shoes that don't fit...? Alfred Sargent only do Goodyear-welted shoes. I think the shoes never got made in the end because Slewfoot not being based in the UK meant he wasn't able to do fittings easily:
http://www.styleforum.net/t/183706/lasts-and-bespoke-shoe-makers/15#post_3292862- basically an Alfred Sargent MTO with a custom last.I remember reading that Trickers' bespoke is the same, which is why it's so much cheaper than John Lobb St James et al.Bespoke Blake-stitched shoes also exist:http://www.styleforum.net/t/5926/recent-commissions-petrocchi-boots-from-rome
I believe it's an old Handgrade model made on the 330 last, in which case this may be helpful:In fact I just found a pair on ebay:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Crockett-Jones-Mens-Leather-BERKELEY-Shoes-Lace-Ups-SIZE-8-1-2-F/291050963847
Lightly used Grenson Masterpiece Stowe, black calf, UK9F: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grenson-shoes-mens-black-leather-lace-ups-sx-9-9-5-/201003359094
Cheaney Threadneedle chelsea boots, black calf, UK6F: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cheaney-Threadneedle-black-classic-Chelsea-boot-size-6-width-fitting-F-/171169846349 They're listed as used but have only been tried on. Grenson Anniversary Edition semi-brogues, claret (?) calf, UK6 and UK7.5: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grenson-Byron-Mens-Claret-Leather-Brogues-/230930348003 I believe the Anniversary Edition shoes were the precursor to the Grenson Masterpiece range. Note...
Grenson Masterpiece for Paul Stuart "Pitt", black calf, US6.5D Brand new, with sunk-in toe plates installed. Note the US sizing rather than the UK sizing on my other listings. Full disclosure: the leather uppers look a little dry on these. They were already like that when I got them and, while I've given them a polish, you can still see what looks like cracking of the finish at the vamp areas of both shoes. They're still perfectly wearable of course, which is why I...
This may be a stupid question, but is the process for resoling a hand-welted shoe the same as the process for resoling a Goodyear-welted shoe? I would've thought they'd be different, but perhaps you don't have a problem with cobblers resoling a hand-welted shoe by machine.
