It's not just Japan...things cost way more in countries like Canada too, easily 20% over the same item compared to the US...
Thanks for these!   I actually have no problem with the roped shoulder, as it appears many suits are finished that way. I'm more concerned about how the shoulder appears like the "after" picture I posted following alteration, the rope is significantly more prominent than prior to alteration, which makes me think that the "rope" part was never moved in the first place and only the superficial layer of fabric was pulled towards the body, which really doesn't help with...
Is it possible to salvage this alteration where the roped part is much more prominent than prior to adjusting the shoulder?
Yeah....especially when I can't use the proper terminology, I didn't have my phone with me so couldn't take a proper picture. I drew the following diagram to illustrate, the height of the bump is exaggerated a little bit, but honestly on both sides you can see a bump like that...basically the shoulder line is shifted a little more medially, and the bump on the lateral side as shown is prominent and obvious.
Hi tailors, I previously posted my MTM suit and received great suggestions from many of you:   http://www.styleforum.net/t/265924/the-tailors-thread-fit-feedback-and-alteration-suggestions/2415#post_6028951   I just went back for my refitting today and a new issue arose. I wanted the shoulders to be taken in about 0.5 inches on each side because they were a tad too wide. I'm not exactly sure what the tailor did, but although the shoulder line on the external...
Thanks OTCtailor for all your helpful suggestions, I'll be sure to communicate those to them at the next fitting, luckily alterations are covered. Appreciate the inputs from others as well! It's good to know that the suit is not a lost cause :)
OTCtailor, you made some great points. I went with them based on a recommendation from a friend, I guess they'd fall under the good & cheap category? Although I'm very new to the MTM world and am not too familiar with the pricing. The initial agent was great, just didn't have as good of an experience with the agent I met in the first fitting. I hope the suit doesn't need HUGE alterations. Unfortunately I don't have it with me, and the pictures I posted are pretty much...
Thanks OTCtailor for all your helpful advice.   I'm quite frustrated because the MTM agent who was working with me basically felt everything fit fine, except for the slightly long pants. I'm not sure if he just didn't want to do any alterations or have absolutely no idea what he's doing. I'm obviously a big newbie on what to proactive tell him about things I want adjusted, and I don't get to work with the tailor directly, all-in-all, it's a very frustrating...
Is American Crew Fiber something that be purchased at the local drug store/department store? I live in Canada btw.   It's important for the product to be basically fragrance-free, and have a moderate or better hold...any other recommendations for a product like this that gives a matte finish? Thanks!
