Do you mean this? http://www.afinepairofshoes.com/collections/shoetrees-price-asc/products/saphir-cedar-shoe-trees How's the quality? Anyway, i bought the Saphir black edition tree and it doesn't fit. So stay away from it.
I would love to use Carmina trees but they are sold out at the boutiques and online store. I have been waiting for them to restock. However, people have been telling me that Carmina trees don't really fit well. LCA is indeed pricey but it looks very well made. I won't buy anything from Hanger Project. Their things are rather expensive when compared to the European counterparts, probably due to non-deductible US taxes. Their shipping cost outside of US is very high...
If it is too big, it can definitely be tailored smaller regardless of how small or big the seam is. The tailor can always take in from the sides and even make the armhole smaller. But you will lose all the nice original handwork. Unless your tailor is competent to perform the same kind of handwork.
I am thinking of brown suede. Light or dark is fine. The reason why i am thinking of Dainite sole is because it is really durable and this makes its a good pair of shoes for traveling. Rain or shine, no worries What do you think?
Have you tried if a 17" won't fit a size 36 jacket? It should actually be no problem.
If you want a good solid wooden hanger, you should look at Toscanini or Nakata hanger. Pricier but worth the money.
