So, I was thinking of picking up one of the Brooks Brothers Back Label navy suits from their recent sale.  It's difficult for me to find a suit that fits my body-type and so I usually have to go with something slim-fitting.   http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Classic-Suit/21AK,default,pd.html?dwvar_21AK_Color=NAVY&dwvar_21AK_Size=BB0&contentpos=4   Any at $950, is a BBBL suit over priced or is that a good deal?  Is there another store/site that sells this clothing...
Yeah, the re-sale value on those suits doesn't seem to be great but that could just be the case for most low-end suits.  I'm not sure how much to trust a second-hand, low-end suit.  Unfortunately, a 36'' in the chest is hard to come by.
Thanks for the well wishes.  I have a very slim body type and so finding the right cut for a suit has proved to be difficult.  If a suit isn't more tailored or slim fitting, it feels and looks boxy on me and I can see the shoulders jet out a little in my periphery.
Thanks for bringing up those great points.  They are really helpful.   The BR suit I was looking at is actually a "tailored" fit which isn't as slim or have as high as arm holes as the "monogram" line.  The Jack Victor suit I was looking at is described as having a "tailored" fit, but how it compares in terms of fit to the BR suit, I have no idea.   I typically need to wear slim-fitting suits - I have a very athletic build, 30'' pant size, 38'' chest, 140lbs but...
Okay, so I'm poor, but I'm looking for a good navy suit.  I found these two at a reasonable price and with discounts/coupon codes can get them for under $400.   Can someone here tell me what may be the better buy?   1) http://www.bluefly.com/Jack-Victor-navy-Loro-Piana-super-120s-wool-two-button-suit-with-flat-front-pants/p/319518803/detail.fly   2) http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=85424&vid=1&pid=762150   Thanks and hope you can give...
Okay, thanks for everyone's advice.  In your opinion, is this particular suit an okay quality?   http://www.bluefly.com/Jack-Victor-navy-Loro-Piana-super-120s-wool-two-button-suit-with-flat-front-pants/p/319518803/detail.fly
Would Jack Victor be a better investment than Banana Republic?  Or is neither a good investment?  I'd like to have this suit for weddings, interviews and possibly hospital work.   I am a very slim guy, wearing size 36 with a 38'' chest. It's hard to find something that looks right on me.  I know banana republic suits are fused but the cut fits well on me.  I just don't know about quality vs Jack Victor.   Also is Jack Victor slim/tailored for a more modest...
After reading up on suits and being given valuable advice & suggestions from this site and its members, I committed SF blasphemy today by ordering my first navy suit from Banana Republic, a chain that sells fused garments made in China.    Around this site, BR seems to be expressed much the same way Jerry utters the word, "Newman!       "   They offered a 40% discount today site wide and this happened to include suits, a rarity.  With my student discount...
Thanks to everyone's input.  I slept on it  for a few days and decided not to buy them.  They are not practical for my needs.
Hello,   I was hoping to get your opinion on the following dress shoes - What kind of events can they be used for? school interviews, business meetings and/or weddings?   Are laceless shoes too casual?  Or can they be professional?  And what color suit can they work with? (Navy, Black, Light Grey, Charcoal or any suit?).   Thanks and hoping people can help out there!
