And I now see what kind of person you are... Trolling threads to inject senseless cynical comments based on speculation and conjecture.
I'm in the same boat, waiting on my swatches before pulling the trigger on my first suit. Don't forget the coupon code (CUREBFD) to save 10% on your first order!
Kudos to Jos. Banks for having such an excellent policy. Now to put it to the test! I brought two of my worst suits (lumpy shoulders, shredded pants lining, loose stitching in seat) in today for a refund. I was told that I have to come back tomorrow to speak with the manager. Looking forward to posting a hopefully positive experience!
I stand corrected. My gold signature suits apparently are half-canvassed. However, they still suffer from the shredded pant linings, loose buttons/threads, and general lack of craftsmanship.
Thanks for the heads-up jbernard! These were purchased over a year ago, but saw very little action. I was unaware of any lifetime guarantee. Do you know if the original receipt is required?
Actually, this is directly from AE: "For the Strand in Walnut Calf, we recommend Allen Edmonds Chili Heel and Sole Edge Dressing. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions. Allen Edmonds Customer Service"   FYI, the edge dressing is being discontinued so you may want to stock up now.
I purchased a pair of AE Park Ave's today and I have a question regarding polish. Is the premium polish (http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF549_1_40000000001_-1) better than the carnuba wax (http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF652_1_40000000001_-1)? The manager said that the premium polish is "new school" versus the carnuba wax. I admit I am a novice when it comes to shoe care so any further explanation would be greatly appreciated.
Because I got scammed with the buy one get x free promo. I thought that would be evident considering JAB's marketing practices, but apparently I have to spell everything out for smart-asses like yourself.
FWIW, I own four JAB suits and they are all fused pieces of crap (two are signature gold). None of the suits have seen much use, yet the suits are literally falling apart. The lining in all of the pants has shredded away due to poor stitching, loose buttons, poor craftsmanship, etc. When you can buy one suit and get three free as with their recent promotion, red flags have to go up. Even their "new" gold signature line at $1,700 is fused. That's ridiculous considering...
