Does anyone know how Meermin compares to Allen Edmond's 8 last? I have a pair of AE Hales in 9.5D that fits me pretty much perfectly. Wonder what that is to Meermin? I also have a pair of Meermin's Hiro in size 8.5 that fits pretty well, but not as snug as the Hales. I'm a little hesitant to size down on the Meermin because of how hard the leather was (and still a little after wearing them weekly for 6 months now), but would love to try to get the same snug fit as the Hales.
Can someone help me out with sizing? I'm looking to buy the Antique Oak Double Monks MTO (Elton last) and not sure what's the best size.   I usually wear:   Meermin Hiro: 8.5 Meermin Ron: 8 Allen Edmonds Mora 2.0: 9D   I emailed Meermin on sizing and they said 8.5 for the Elton would be appropriate, but I'm wondering if I should size down 0.5 given they're double monks?   Thanks!
Beautiful color! Thank you.
I don't know the answer to your question, but do you happen to have a real life picture of those shoes (just trying to get a sense of the color)? Thanks!
Thanks everyone! I actually ended up pulling the trigger on another pair of 8 last, Hale Oxfords in Walnut Burnished Calf that's on clearance right now for only $300 after taxes. Always loved these shoes. Guess I'll have to justify the Moras next month... http://www.allenedmonds.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producti_SF5558_1_40000000001_-1?utm_campaign=bazaarvoice&utm_medium=SearchVoice&utm_source=AskAndAnswer&utm_content=Default
How does the 8 last fit compared to the 5 last? I have a pair of 5th aves and park aves in 9.5D. I'm looking at the Mora 2.0, but there isn't a store around me to try them on. Thanks!
If you're asking do I work in HR in an investment bank, no I don't. I work in the front office and yes I do recruit / interview people for IB positions. I agree if you have literally nothing else related to finance or accounting, CFA says "hey I'm actually interested in finance." But realistically how long does it take for you to study and pass CFA level 1? Let alone level 2? The amount of time you spent studying for the CFA, you could be learning valuations, lbos,...
That's actually not correct at all. CFA does next to nothing for your application. Unless you literally have nothing finance or accounting related, which in that case a CFA isn't going to get you the job anyway.   http://www.mergersandinquisitions.com/cfa-investment-banking/
1. If you're in audit, 95% of the time you'll be traveling, but typically within driving distance of your office. Almost the entire audit process is done onsite at the client's offices, especially when you're a first or second year. That said, there can be times when you're staying in a hotel. I was probably in a hotel 30% of the time in my first year. Mind you it wasn't anywhere glamorous. More likely it's kind of a small place without a close Big 4 office nearby,...
I see your point but feel it's honestly marginally better even so. In certain markets GT / BDO may have a really strong presence, but overall they're still far behind Big 4 and tend to get clumped together with everyone else. It's not so much there isn't an actual difference, it's more people tend to just think Big 4 and then everyone else. Hell even KPMG gets jocked on by PwC and DT...although KPMG did quite well this year.By the way in no way am I saying you can't be...
