Funny I live about 30 feet away from Longman and Eagle. I find the food hit or miss, it is creative but I think the kitchen is too small and the food suffers when they are busy. I've taken a fancy to Owen and Engine, about half a mile away, nice little English-inspired gastropub. If you are just visiting Chicago and don't mind going to lunch at 10am, I'd give Hot Doug's a try, you won't regret it. Also Arun's Thai is a nice change-up for you fine-dining foodies into...
I recently agreed to volunteer for a Black Tie event for the American Cancer Society. I am required to be dressed in Black Tie. I was able to purchase a SB Peak tuxedo from the ill fated cladmen.com's final closeout sale for about $200 (link if you are interested). I just need some patent shoes. I have some black balmoral captoes that I tried-out, but as spit shined as I could get them, they just did not look right to me with the dinner jacket. So patent leather, it...
Thanks for your response sir, it helps me understand your business model a lot. The current site is managable for me as it is, but the one thing I would suggest in the interim is to rename the image files for the fabric swatches to their color and weave, and put the fabric number in the detail, rather than vice-versa as it is now. This would make it easier to scan the thumbnails for what I'm looking for rather than relying on my dubious color-identifying abilities and...
This sounds good. You'll get a lot of (often dramatic) advice, but in the end you'll have to wear it, and pay for it. No use in sizing down if it makes you uncomfortable and you won't wear it.
Got a long 18" metal shoehorn. Joy to use, because I do not have to bend down very far to use it.
It looks a bit large from the pictures. How does the fit feel?
I say hold on to the jacket. I remember myself when I was twenty, an eyeblink and a decade later and I'm 40lbs heavier (I hope you fare better with age). You may find you will grow into it, both physically and sartorially. I don't think its as terribile as the other posts seem to be painting it. The pictures are not clear, but before taking any drastic advice, try posting again with higher res pics after a good pressing. We need a better sense of the fabric, is it the...
That's why I wrote in that second part.. For example, I may not be the biggest fan of widely spaced pinstripes or tassel loafers, but if someone can wear them well and look good, I can appreciate it, even if I'd never wear it.Plus I give the bosses a little credit. I manage a small group of clerks, and I'm by far more concerned with their work.Of course you will have to judge if a DB or whatever you are interested in would be off-putting to your clients or bosses. The...
As long as it looks good and you can wear it comfortably and confidently, go with it People may not agree with your choices, but if they think it works for you, there is no issue..
I think I only prefer Burgundy shoes to brown with Navy Suits/Trousers. But I'm a creature of habit. Black/Charcoal = Black Shoe. Brown/Light Grey = Brown Shoe. Mid Grey=whatever. Blue (not navy)= Chili or Brown. I probably should mix it up, gotta find a combo that works though. As for formality, well,"Formality" seems to be a tricky word around here. The two criteria that work best for me are "looks good?" and "appropriate for setting?" Generally though, in most...
