Found an old thread on here, but it hasn't had any postings since 2012. http://www.styleforum.net/t/81484/best-tailor-in-boston-area-any-reccomendations Curious if those recommendations are still accurate? I'm looking for someone who can alter a few suits and sport coats. Have used Jordan's on Newbury and have been very satisfied (but would like to find someone further West if possible). This is what I took away from the old thread: > Rizzo's in Harvard Square (just...
Thanks all for the tips. I've been studying up on eBay a bit. One follow up question - is it possible (?) to find current season items on sale? Is there a winning strategy for doing that?
I remember seeing a ranking floating around here of various suit brands. So does that listing hold up for blazers as well? Kord
I appreciate good materials and construction, and love quality fabrics, but I'm not a man of unlimited means. Where's a good place to look for "high value" jackets - and I guess suits for that matter. Have a few Zegna suits (but make those purchases very sparingly). Was looking at a Zegna sport coat yesterday ($2000 on sale). Is there such a thing as a "high value" sport coat - in the $500 to $1000 range? Where? Thanks, and happy holidays!
Best place to browse for Alden online? Want to take a look at their full range before I start visiting stores. Does any site represent the (almost) full range? And please don't tell me Alden.com. Their site is as terrible as their shoes are good.

I've got a friend in Boston who's getting married in June. He's wanting to buy his first pair of Alden shoes - probably long wings. If he's already decided to pull the trigger on a pair, where could he go to get fitted and pick up on the same day? He doesn't have a lot of time to wait. Plus, he's willing to drive. Looking for stores that would have decent selection and size inventory on hand. Shoe Mart in CT? Places down in NYC? thanks!
You're seriously asking for help with how to sleep? ;-)
Hi All, Need some help. Just picked up my first pair of Aldens yesterday. 403s. Absolutely love em. The old man at the shop laced em up for me nice and tight when I tried them on. But I just can't get the same nice feel on my own. It's really hard to 'keep tension on the line' and snug up the laces at the same time. Any tricks?
